James McAvoy (X-Men, Atonement) returns to the stage in an inventive new adaptation of Cyrano de Bergerac, broadcast live to cinemas from the West End in London.

Fierce with a pen and notorious in combat, Cyrano almost has it all - if only he could win the heart of his true love Roxane. There’s just one big problem: he has a nose as huge as his heart. Will a society engulfed by narcissism get the better of Cyrano - or can his mastery of language set Roxane’s world alight?

Edmond Rostand’s masterwork is adapted by Martin Crimp, with direction by Jamie Lloyd (Betrayal). This classic play will be brought to life with linguistic ingenuity to celebrate Cyrano’s powerful and resonant resistance against overwhelming odds.

Running time: 3 hours

Tickets for Cyrano are a bargain at £10 (the cheapest ticket price for a NTLive screening anywhere! )

One Side Lies The Sea
A Pentabus and Theatre By The Lake co-production
Co-created with Dom Coyote and Jen Bell.

“Standing out in the middle of the Solway it's a different world, it’s a different place to be. It takes away all your life stresses. Thinking about the tides will take you away for days. It’s like pressing the restart button. “ Mark, Haaf net fisherman.

Dom and Jen have been on a journey around rural coastal areas of the UK. They have met some astonishing people and they are here to sing their stories. Stories of hope and loss, of seas and tides, of quotas and freedom. From Newlyn to Maryport, Silloth to Hornsea, One Side Lies The Sea is a musical journey through the brilliant communities that inhabit our coastline.

A musical collaboration between Pentabus Theatre Company, musicians and theatre-makers Dom Coyote and Jennifer Bell, and rural coastal communities in North West Cumbria, Cornwall and East Riding of Yorkshire.
